Tapography — Terms of Service

The short version: Tapography is a free game made for fun. It's provided "as is," with no guarantees, and it may change or go offline at any time. By playing, you agree to use it fairly and at your own risk.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Tapography ("the Service", "we", "I"), a geography guessing game available as a Discord Activity and as a browser game at tapography.ftp.sh. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Tapography is a free, non-commercial hobby project. It is not monetized: there are no ads, no purchases, no subscriptions, and nothing is sold. It is offered for personal, recreational use among friends.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) and, when using it through Discord, comply with Discord's Terms of Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Cheat, exploit bugs, or manipulate scores or leaderboards.
Attempt to disrupt, overload, hack, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or collect data from the Service.
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms or Discord's rules.

4. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on a best-effort, hobby basis. I may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it — including daily puzzles, leaderboards, or the Service as a whole — at any time and without notice. I do not guarantee any level of uptime, availability, or data preservation.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. I DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPERATOR OF TAPOGRAPHY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. Because the Service is provided free of charge, the operator's total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed zero U.S. dollars (US$0.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

7. Indemnification

You agree to hold harmless the operator of Tapography from any claims or demands arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains what limited data is collected and confirms that it is never sold or shared with advertisers.

9. Termination

I may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these Terms or abuses the Service, at my discretion.

10. Not affiliated with Discord

Tapography is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc. "Discord" is a trademark of its respective owner.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes shall be handled in the courts located there.

12. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
